Asbestos Awareness Course
Why do this course?
This course is suitable for persons who may come in contact with buildings, structures, products, parts, machinery and objects that have an asbestos content. Risk management principles are applied to the identification, assessment, and safe handling of materials that may contain an asbestos content.
This course does not deal with the removal or disposal of asbestos products.
Course Aims
This is an introductory course designed to provide an awareness and overview of asbestos, how to identify it, what are the risks and hazards, and how it should be managed. This course draws primarily from the NSW WHS Act 2011, NSW WHS Regulation 2017, and the Model Code of Practice: How to manage and control asbestos in the workplace published by Safe Work Australia.

This course is not an accredited course. This is an "awareness course." All participants will be issued a Certificate of Attendance.

Have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills
