Chief Fire Warden course

Course Overview

 

The Chief Warden Training Course is designed to prepare participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage workplace emergencies effectively. It provides participants with a practical understanding of emergency management procedures, evacuation coordination, and leadership responsibilities in accordance with Australian Standards and WHS Legislation.
This course has been mapped to the national unit of competency – PUAFER006: Lead an Emergency Control Organisation, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices.
 

Who Should Attend?

 

This course is suitable for individuals who are responsible for leading an emergency response in the workplace, including:
 Chief Wardens & Deputy Chief Wardens
 Fire Wardens & Floor Wardens
 Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) members
 WHS Officers & Facility Managers.
 Anyone involved in workplace emergency planning
 

Course Objectives

 

The course content is aligned with Australian Standards AS 3745:2010 and AS 4083:2010 and focuses on the critical aspects of emergency planning, response, coordination, and leadership. Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
 Understand the role and responsibilities of a Chief Warden in emergency situations.
 Identify potential workplace emergency situations and risk mitigation strategies.
 Describe the structure of EPC and ECO
 Effectively communicate emergency procedures to staff and visitors.
 Lead and coordinate safe evacuations and emergency responses.
 Use workplace emergency communication systems appropriately.
 Work with emergency services and ensure post-incident reporting and debriefing.

 

Assessment
 

Participants will be assessed through:
 A written knowledge assessment covering emergency procedures and leadership responsibilities
 Practical activities, including emergency response coordination and Chief warden role simulations

 

Certification
 

Upon successful completion of the course and the post-course assessment, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
We are not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). We do not issue a Statement of Attainment. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a Certificate of Completion.

 

Prerequisites
 

To complete the Chief Warden Course, the participants must have completed
 Warden Course (PUAFER005 – Operate as part of an emergency control organisation)
