Health & Safety Committee course

1 Day Public or 1 Day On Site

Why do this course?
A health and safety committee helps the business to develop WHS policy and procedures for the workplace.

An HSC may also assist a business to consult its workers on matters of health and safety in the workplace.
The committee is made up of representatives of the business and representatives from the workforce. HSRs are included as worker representatives.

This collaboration between management and workers helps foster a positive safety culture and ensures management have correct information to make the big decisions about health and safety for the organisation.
New HSC members may not have any WHS familiarity or experience. This course teaches WHS principles that an HSC member needs to know in order to be able to contribute as a committee member, as well as what an HSC is and its functions as stated in Section 77 of the NSW WHS Act 2011.
